The goal of this program is to improve the elimination of hepatitis C virus (HCV) as a public health threat, the diagnosis and management of ischemic colitis, and colonoscopy techniques. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Outline the goals of World Health Organization action plan to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public health threat
2. Identify the global and national challenges in the elimination of HCV.
3. Differentiate between clinical presentations of ischemic coli-tis and other causes of gastrointestinal symptoms.
4. Select appropriate imaging modalities and laboratory tests to confirm a diagnosis of ischemic colitis.
5. Utilize recommended procedural techniques that enhance safety, disease detection rates, and accurate placement of a snare during colonoscopy.
