The goal of this program is to improve management of viral hepatitis and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Utilize treatment algorithms to guide management of patients with hepatitis C virus infection.
2. Develop strategies for treatment and prevention of hepatitis B virus in patients with HIV infection.
3. Perform surveillance for hepatocellular carcinoma in patients with viral hepatitis.
4. Identify risk factors for development of NAFLD and progression to cirrhosis.
5. Select appropriate management strategies for patients with NAFLD.
