HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 2022 UPDATE IN INTERNAL MEDICINE: ADVANCES CHANGING PRACTICE

The goal of this program is to improve the management of fibromyalgia and of behavioral symptoms in dementia. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Perform an appropriate workup for patients presenting with symptoms consistent with fibromyalgia.
2. Choose an appropriate medication for management of symptoms of fibromyalgia.
3. Minimize risk for adverse effects when treating behavioral symptoms of dementia.
4. Select an appropriate intramuscular agent to treat severe behavioral disturbances in dementia.
5. Assess the efficacy of medications that are less typically used to treat behavioral symptoms of dementia.
