Highlights from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons: Ankle Instability and Cartilage Lesions

The goal of this program is to improve the diagnosis and manage ment of primary and chronic ankle instability, osteochondral lesions, and ligament injuries. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Use imaging to assess for intra-articular pathology in repair of ankle instability. 2. Differentiate among various open procedures use in repair of ankle instability. 3. Appraise use of the arthroscopic Brostrom technique used in repair of ankle instability. 4. Explain use of the nanoscope in repair of the anterior talofibular ligament. 5. Compare arthroscopic with open repair of the anterior talofibular ligament.
