The goal of this program is to improve management of common issues seen by hospitalists, and management of cardiac amyloidosis. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Select patients with community-acquired pneumonia for treatment with corticosteroids. 2. Recognize -lactam-induced drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms. 3. Related frailty to mortality risk after in-hospital cardiopul monary resuscitation. 4. Differentiate amyloid transthyretin amyloidosis from amyloid light chain amyloidosis based on thickening of the wall of the left ventricle. 5. Choose a testing modality for diagnosis of amyloid light chain amyloidosis.
