PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This course has been presented for the past 5+ years at the Annual meeting and seeks to provide updates in coding for Otolaryngology procedures. Changes in the CPT code set occur every year and have a tremendous impact on reimbursement for our membership. The course is given by experienced CPT advisers for both the AAO-HNS and the Triological societies. Coding dilemmas and how to address them are also touched upon in an open discussion format.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Understand new procedural CPT codes in Otolaryngology for 2023 and preview potential changes in 2024.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Understand how to use common CPT code modifiers.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Understand the process of when to use unlisted codes and optimize potential reimbursement when doing so.BACKGROUND STATEMENT: Otolaryngologists need updates in new code changes as they not only occur annually but are amended monthly. This course helps providers properly report their services to correctly optimize reimbursement.
