Allegheny Health Network (AHN) has determined that it is in the best interest of the AHN Hospitals to establish Quality, Safety and Value (QSV) Committees for each of the AHN Hospitals to review, and to provide oversight and recommendations with respect to, quality, safety and value matters for their respective Hospitals. West Penn Hospital s (WPH) QSV Committee of the Board is a peer review protected quality and patient safety committee as the terms are defined under Pennsylvania Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error (MCare) Act. The WPH QSV Committee of the Board shall have the authority to review, shall be responsible to make recommendations and shall oversee hospital quality performance, regulatory expectations, and patient safety; and shall assist the AHN QSV of the Board in identifying and adopting a plan to address community health needs and developing strategic direction towards achieving health care value; and shall perform such other duties as required by the AHN Quality, Safety, Value Committee of the Board.
