The goal of this program is to improve management of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:Describe the pathophysiology of TTP.Use the PLASMIC score and ADAMTS13 activity to identify patients likely to have TTP.Develop strategies for management of acute episodes of TTP and prevention of exacerbations.Manage long-term complications of TTP.Summarize the relationship between activation of the complement pathway and TTP.
