The goal of this program is to analyze the impact of the human microbiome on human physiology, improve the use of a multidisciplinary approach for treating young-onset colorectal cancer (CRC), and improve surgical treatment of liver metastases in CRC. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Recognize the importance of the human microbiome in maintenance of homeostasis and other life processes. 2. Select appropriate methods for fertility preservation in young persons with CRC. 3. Develop a comprehensive approach for managing youngonset CRC. 4. Employ a 2-step approach to liver metastases in CRC. 5. Compare the risks and benefits of various surgical techniques for managing liver metastases in CRC.
