The goal of this program is to improve management of inpatient alcohol withdrawal and treatment of limb ischemia. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Explain the pathophysiology of alcohol withdrawal.
2. List the mechanisms of action associated with benzodiazepines.
3. Optimize use of phenobarbital in management of alcohol withdrawal.
4. Assess a patient presenting with claudication.
5. Administer pharmacotherapy for a patient with limb ischemia.
