1. Interventional Radiology (IR) Team Meeting and Quality Improvement Series 2. Overview: This is a series of lectures given by IR physicians to educate nurses, technologists, and other health care professionals regarding IR procedures and patient care. Topics range from ablation and embolization, biopsy and drainage, to complex vascular procedures, with special attention to image guidance and patient management. 3. Objectives: a. Staff will be able to describe the indications and contraindications of IR procedures and pre-procedure workup. b. Staff will be able to describe how different imaging modalities are used to guide IR procedures. c. Staff will be able to describe how patients are sedated and positioned for IR procedures. d. Staff will be able to identify complications expected for different procedures, and to describe how there are managed. e. Staff will learn what are expected post-procedure outcomes and how patients are followed up clinically.
