The goal of this program is to improve the identification and treatment of human trafficking victims, safety measures against stalking for medical professionals, and risk assessment in patients with suicidal ideation. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Evaluate for common health issues in suspected victims of human trafficking who present to the emergency department.
2. Identify risk factors for sex and labor trafficking.
3. Enhance safety precautions against stalking and other sources of violence in the emergency department.
4. Categorize risk factors for suicide and violence as modifiable or nonmodifiable factors.
5. Utilize appropriate risk assessment tools to improve the care of patients with suicidal ideation.
