Prurigo nodularis (PN) is a chronic neuro-inflammatory skin condition in which women, older patients, and certain ethnic and racial groups are disproportionately affected. Recent years have seen the emergence and approval of biologic treatments. Through engagement with educational initiatives, clinicians can balance the benefits and risks of biologic therapy for PN. This enduring activity, offered in a unique microburst learning format is for US-based dermatologists, allergists, immunologists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who have the opportunity to manage patients with PN. As a result of this activity, learners should be better able to: 1: Identify the therapeutic needs of patients with prurigo nodularis (PN); 2: Review the evidence for current and emerging biologic treatments for prurigo nodularis (PN); and 3: Outline how to integrate biologic therapies into the care of patients with prurigo nodularis (PN). By personalizing the learning experience with the patient voice, learners gain a deeper understanding of the physical, emotional, and social burden of disease and treatment. Learners will also have the opportunity to view a list of all sessions to allow easy access to those of greatest interest.
