Left ventricular (LV) rupture is a life-threatening condition often resulting from acute myocardial infarction (MI) or severe chest trauma. This condition involves the tearing of the LV wall, leading to catastrophic internal bleeding, cardiogenic shock, and often sudden death if not promptly treated. Symptoms can include severe chest pain, hypotension, and signs of cardiac tamponade. Early diagnosis and immediate surgical intervention are critical for improving survival rates. Risk factors include older age, female sex, and underlying heart conditions.Clinicians participating in this course gain comprehensive knowledge of the etiology, risk factors, and clinical presentation of LV rupture. They learn advanced diagnostic techniques, effective surgical and medical management strategies, and the importance of interprofessional communication and care coordination. The course also covers patient education, postoperative care, and strategies to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
