This educational activity is intended to help ophthalmologists and optometrists optimize the treatment of patients with dry eye disease. Learners will focus on incorporating diagnostic strategies that examine meibomian gland function in routine practice and designing evidence-based treatment plans for patients with meibomian gland dysfunction associated dry eye disease. The desired results of this activity are to cement clinicians knowledge of the role of evaporation in the pathogenesis of meibomian gland dysfunction and help them obtain practical strategies for screening, diagnosis, and effective treatment that can improve patient outcomes.
