Life Cycle Considerations in Hypoparathyroidism

Life Cycle Considerations in Hypoparathyroidism

Chronic hypoparathyroidism (HPT) is a rare endocrine disorder marked by low calcium levels and insufficient parathyroid hormone (PTH), leading to symptoms like muscle cramps, fatigue, and in severe cases, seizures and cardiac issues. Due to its rarity, many clinicians lack experience in managing this lifelong condition. This program aims to fill knowledge gaps in managing HPT through a series of microlessons and case studies. It covers: Hypoparathyroidism in Adults: Diagnosis, treatment, and complications. Hypoparathyroidism in Children: Pediatric considerations and long-term care. Hypoparathyroidism and Pregnancy: Management strategies for expectant mothers. Hypoparathyroidism and Aging: Long-term care and complications in older adults.
