The goal of this program is to improve the management of chronic diseases using lifestyle medicine and the management of weight gain in HIV patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize the importance of lifestyle medicine in pre-venting, treating, or reversing chronic diseases.
2. Develop strategies for implementing lifestyle medicine in clinical practice.
3. Appraise current evidence on lifestyle modification strategies.
4. Identify the association between ART and weight gain in patients with HIV infection.
5. Evaluate commonly used weight-loss medications for individuals with HIV infection.
