Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common form of primary liver cancer in the United States with three-quarters of primary and secondary liver cancer cases. The trend for both estimated new and instances of death is increasing in parallel to the geographical underlying chronic liver disease or cirrhosis etiology. This activity reviews the causes, pathophysiology and presentation of liver cancer and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in its management.
