The goals of this program are to improve management of liver disease through treatment of obesity, improve management of belching, gas, and bloating, and improve management of bile acid diarrhea. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Cite evidence for weight loss management in liver diseases. 2. Explain the mechanisms underlying bloating, belching, and distension. 3. Prescribe appropriate treatment for patients with bloating and distension. 4. Identify patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are at risk for bile acid diarrhea. 5. Choose an appropriate treatment strategy for a patient with bile acid diarrhea.
