The goal of this program is to optimize use of liver function tests in order to improve patient outcomes. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. List the 3 components of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
2. Differentiate nonalcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
3. Use management strategies for treatment of NAFL and NASH.
4. Compare the use of ursodiol with obeticholic acid for treatment of primary biliary cholangitis.
5. Develop an appropriate plan for the management of hepatitis C virus infection.
