The goal of this program is to improve diagnosis and management of lung cancer in women, awareness of the impact of air pollution on cardiovascular outcomes, and implementation of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Select patients for annual screenings for lung cancer.
2. Advise patients on use of smoking cessation techniques.
3. Identify patients who are at risk for cardiovascular disease from exposure to air pollution.
4. Assist patients in using emotional regulation strategies dur-ing stressful events.
5. Direct patients to providers of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.
