Lymphatic Endothelial Cells/Lymphatic Vessels vs Blood Vessels/Lymphatic Trafficking of Immune Cells

Lymphatic Endothelial Cells/Lymphatic Vessels vs Blood Vessels/Lymphatic Trafficking of Immune Cells

The goal of this program is to improve critical thinking about the role of lymphatic endothelial cells in cancer metastasis, molecular mechanisms of cancer spread, and lymphatic trafficking of immune and tumor cells. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Outline the mechanisms behind lymphatic remodeling in cancer. 2. Recognize the immune regulatory functions of lymphatic endothelial cells. 3. Assess the role of lymphatic and blood vessels in cancer metastasis. 4. Enumerate key steps in leukocyte trafficking through the lymphatics. 5. Identify novel pathways for prevention of metastasis.
