The goal of this program is to improve the management of treatment-resistant depression (TRD). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize predictors of TRD.
2. Differentiate among subtypes of depression.
3. Optimize pharmacologic treatment of TRD.
4. Determine whether a patient with depression might benefit from electroconvulsive therapy.
5. Select appropriate pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions for managing TRD.
