Psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) is now legal in Oregon for adult use, and legalization and decriminalization of psilocybin is spreading. Research is finding psilocybin to be effective in addressing several mental and physical health conditions. It follows that primary care providers will start seeing patients inquire whether psilocybin therapy is appropriate to address their medical conditions, and whether it is safe for them to undergo. This course will help primary care providers learn about psilocybin therapy, including indications, contraindications, and drug-drug interactions. They will also learn how to assess and manage medical risks in patients seeking psilocybin therapy.
