Marijuana Use and Implications in Anesthesia and Surgery/Non-Anesthetic Drug Interactions

The goal of this program is to improve outcomes of anesthesia and surgery in patients using cannabinoids and anesthesia and surgery outcomes by minimizing non-anesthesia drug interac tions. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Differentiate the effects of cannabinoids between new and chronic users. 2. Evaluate the interactions of cannabinoids with other drugs. 3. Identify potential complications in cannabinoid users undergoing surgery. 4. Develop strategies to minimize risks for aspiration dur ing anesthesia in patients taking glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists. 5. Adjust doses of anesthetic medications for cannabinoid users undergoing surgery.
