The goal of this program is to improve the management of intraoperative ventilation. After hearing and assimilating this program, clinicians will be better able to:
1. Utilize lung-protective ventilation strategies during surgery.

3. Optimize the power of mechanical ventilation during anesthesia.
4. Review the mechanics of breathing and intraoperative ventilation.
5. Recognize various types of ventilator-induced lung injury, eg, barotrauma and atelectrauma, that may occur in the operating room.
