1. Recognize and stage a patient in heart failure. 2. Apply diagnostic tests to aid in the evaluation of heart failure. 3. Identify common causes of heart failure. 4. Identify the main types of cardiomyopathies. 5. Master the guidelines and manage patients in all stages of heart failure. 6. Appropriately prescribe ACEi, ARBs, beta-blockers, aldosterone antagonists, ARNi, hydralazine nitrates, and other drugs for the management of chronic stable heart failure. 7. Ensure patients are on guideline directed medical therapy. 8. Determine when a patient should be hospitalized for an acute decompensation. 9. Appropriately treat acute decompensated episodes with diuretics, inotropes, or vasodilators. 10. Create a discharge treatment plan following acute decompensation and hospitalization.
