The goal of this program is to improve counseling of patients about the role of the microbiome in gastrointestinal disorders and management of moderate-to-severe Crohn disease. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Interpret findings of microbiome analyses. 2. Recommend lifestyle modifications for patients with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. 3. Assess data on the efficacy and safety of fecal microbiota transplantation. 4. Consider different methodologic approaches for positioning therapies for Crohn disease. 5. Devise individualized treatment plans for patients with Crohn disease.
