The Council for Associate and Patient Safety was established in February 2010 and expands the advocacy and responsibility for patient safety to all members of the healthcare team. The key components are coordination/oversight, organizational learning, assessment/surveillance, communication, transparency and accountability that are the driving forces in changing how the hospital views a culture of safety.
