Pancreatic cancer is one of the most lethal diseases and could be the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States by 2020. Surgical resection offers the only potential for cure; however, most patients are diagnosed in the later stages when the disease is unresectable. Systemic chemotherapy is the mainstay for the management of patients with pancreatic cancer, but it has limited efficacy. Recent advances in surgery, radiation therapy, ablative options, and endovascular therapies have brought promise and hope to these patients. In this course, a multidisciplinary panel of experts examine recently published trial data, novel systemic therapies, MR-guided radiation therapy, minimally invasive approaches to pancreatic surgery, irreversible electroporation (IRE) for pancreatic cancer, and more.
