PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this panel is to discuss straight-forward to complex Mohs defects that require meticulous planning and execution through a case-based discussion with experts in the field. We will investigate several subsites of the head and neck and emphasize that there are several possible options for reconstructing various defects each with their advantages and disadvantages. The panel will also emphasize the importance of restoring function as well as aesthetic appearance. This topic was specifically identified in a comprehensive gap analysis by the board and would be well bridged by this group of panelists. By the end of the talk, attendees will feel more comfortable managing defects sent over by Mohs surgeons.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Explore several subsites in the head and neck that may be impacted by Mohs defects.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Investigate various solutions to reconstructing Mohs defects.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Appreciate the advantages and disadvantages of each reconstructive option and how it relates to restoring function and cosmetic appeal.BACKGROUND STATEMENT: This topic was specifically identified in a comprehensive gap analysis by the board.
