Mucopolysaccharidosis Type II

Mucopolysaccharidosis Type II

Mucopolysaccharidosis Type II (Hunter syndrome) is a rare X-linked recessive disorder. It has an early age of onset with clinical symptoms involving multiple organ systems. The severity of the disease depends on the phenotype. The severe phenotype has high morbidity and mortality. Early diagnostic evaluation should be carried out in suspected patients. This activity reviews the clinical picture, evaluation, and treatment of Hunter syndrome and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in evaluating and treating the patients.
