N-FLIGHT MEDICAL EMERGENCIES/RURAL MEDICINE/SKIN RASHES

The goal of this program is to improve the management of in-flight medical emergencies, provision of health care in rural areas, and detection and management of underlying causes of petechiae and purpura. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Collaborate with the pilot, flight crew, and ground support for better management of an in-flight medical emergency.
2. Utilize limited medical resources available during in-flight medical emergencies.
3. Optimize the provision of better health care in rural areas via telemedicine and cooperation with local health care teams.
4. Stratify patients with petechiae and purpura according to severity of their condition.
5. Select appropriate treatment strategies in a child presenting with signs and symptoms of petechaie and purpura.
