Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States. Diabetes prevention and management are achievable with lifestyle behavior changes. Managing diabetes can be challenging, but appropriate professional support can maximize health outcomes. This activity will address facilitating DSMES and DPP in a group setting and handling group dynamics. The participants will discuss team-based care, identifying implicit biases and behavioral/mental health concerns, utilizing preferred communication, diversity, and inclusion.
