The goal of this program is to improve mucosal healing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), surgery as the first-line therapy for Crohn disease (CD), and identification of IBD mimickers. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Optimize endoscopic results in assessment of remission in IBD. 2. Use changes in objective markers of inflammation and symp toms to guide treatment decisions in IBD. 3. Explain results assessing the utility of the Kono-S anastomosis in CD. 4. Compare symptoms of Salmonella infection with Crohn disease. 5. Differentiate extrapulmonary tuberculosis from Crohn disease
