The goal of this program is to improve management of pain with truncal nerve blocks and representation of women in cardiology clinical trials. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Use truncal nerve blocks to reduce the need for postoperative opioid administration. 2. Select a nerve block for axillary node sampling. 3. Compare and contrast nerve blocks based on reported post-operative pain scores. 4. Recognize provider-oriented factors which contribute to underrepresentation of women in clinical trials. 5. Identify areas of clinical research in which women are underrepresented.
