The goal of this program is to improve the use of advanced therapies for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and treatment of alcohol use disorder (AUD) in patients with alcoholic liver disease. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify individuals at risk of developing advanced liver diseases.
2. Recommend lifestyle changes and weight loss for managing nonalcoholic liver disease.
3. Choose among available medications for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
4. Select appropriate testing modalities for the detection of AUD in patients with alcoholic liver disease.
5. Compare the risks and benefits of various relapse prevention medications for use in patients with AUD.
