The goal of this program is to improve management of ocular surface tumors. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Use histopathologic features to differentiate ocular surface squamous neoplasia from normal tissue and other conjunctival lesions.
2. Implement excisional biopsy and cryotherapy techniques to prevent recurrence of conjunctival lesions.
3. Prescribe medical therapies for ocular surface squamous neoplasia to maximize antineoplastic efficacy while minimizing drug toxicity.
4. Predict recurrence rates of conjunctival squamous papilloma and ocular surface squamous neoplasia.
5. Identify clinical features of melanocytic lesions that increase the risk for malignant transformation and metastasis.
