ONCOLOGY CARE IN THE ACUTE CARE SETTING FOR THE NON-ONCOLOGY NP/PA: CHEMOTHERAPY-INDUCED TOXICITIES & ONCOLOGIC EMERGENCIES (ENDURING)

This content will cover risk factors, assessment, and management of chemotherapy-induced toxicities (cardiac, pulmonary, renal) that impact the care of acutely ill oncology patients in the hospital setting. The chemotherapy agents with risk of cardiac, pulmonary, and renal toxicity will be discussed. After review of common chemotherapy-induced toxicities, we will discuss the assessment and management of common oncologic emergencies such as infusion/hypersensitivity reaction, Tumor Lysis Syndrome, SVC Syndrome, Spinal Cord Compression, and Febrile Neutropenia in the acute setting.
