OPHTHALMIC ANESTHESIA BLOCK INJURIES/PEDIATRIC TRAUMA ANESTHESIOLOGY

The goal of this program is to improve prevention of diplopia after administration of anesthesia for cataract surgery, and patient outcomes in children who have sustained traumatic injuries. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Optimize use of anesthesia in cataract surgery.
2. List the benefits of hyaluronidase in cataract surgery.
3. Identify the signs of hemodynamic instability in children.
4. Choose between cuffed and uncuffed endotracheal tubes in pediatric trauma.
5. List Brain Trauma Foundation recommendations for pediatric severe traumatic brain injury.
