The goal of this program is to improve the management of central retinal artery occlusion, cataracts in the setting of uveitis, glaucoma, and proliferative vitreoretinopathy. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Optimize time-sensitive treatment of central retinal artery occlusion to maximize visual outcomes.
2. Select appropriate steroid therapy and intraocular lenses for uveitic patients undergoing cataract surgery.
3. Elaborate on the impact of corneal hysteresis on intraocular pressure and its role in the management of glaucoma.
4. Compare advantages and disadvantages of current and emerging glaucoma therapies.
5. Reduce risk for recurrent retinal detachment and risk in patients with proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
