OPIOID CRISIS/TUBAL LIGATION ANESTHESIA/SUBSTANCE USE SCREENING

The goal of this program is to improve the management of opioid addiction, anesthetic considerations in tubal ligation, and screen-ing for substance use. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Implement strategies to reduce harm from prescription opioids.
2. Optimize the timing of tubal ligation in the postpartum period.
3. Evaluate anesthetic considerations for patients undergoing tubal ligations.
4. Assess risk stratification strategies for substance use disorder (SUD) in the perioperative setting.
5. Mitigate challenges associated with screening for SUD.
