The goal of this program is to improve prevention and man-agement of opioid use disorder and use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for management of emergent conditions. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify possible reasons for the increased incidence of opioid use disorder during the COVID-19 pandemic.
2. Develop strategies for the management and referral of patients presenting with opioid use disorder in the emergency department.
3. Implement nonopioid strategies for pain management in the emergency department.
4. Review indications and absolute and relative contraindica-tions to hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
5. Use preparation strategies to minimize adverse effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
