The goal of this program is to improve outcomes of orthopedic procedures by optimizing bone health. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Evaluate osteoporotic fractures of the upper limb. 2. Select appropriate management options for upper limb fractures in patients with osteoporosis. 3. Modify orthopedic surgery procedures to accommodate agerelated changes to the skin and bone in older patients. 4. Use strategies to prevent postoperative bone loss. 5. Develop a comprehensive plan to optimize bone health prior to surgery.
