Organ Donation/Facing Futility/Fasciotomy Pitfalls/Ventilator Weaning and Liberation

The goal of this program is to improve the process of organ donation, prediction of futility in children and adults, management of compartment syndrome, and discontinuation of mechanical ventilation. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Implement appropriate management strategies for addressing challenges in organ transplantation. 2. Anticipate complications after brain death to provide optimal critical care management. 3. Determine whether life-saving interventions are futile in severely ill or injured children and adults. 4. Identify the indications for fasciotomy in upper and lower extremity injuries. 5. Optimize weaning and liberation from mechanical ventilation.
