The goal of this program is to improve treatment of osteoporosis and management of distal radius fractures. After hearing and assimilat ing this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Cite guidelines from the American Society for Bone and Min eral Research for recommendations regarding bisphosphonate drug holidays. 2. Administer alendronate in patients stopping short-term deno sumab therapy. 3. Compare use of alendronate with teriparatide for reduction of fracture risk. 4. Explain importance of lunate facet reduction in distal radial fractures. 5. Optimize imaging in patients to assess indication for surgery in distal radial fractures.
