The goal of this program is to improve management of sudden senso¬rineural hearing loss after COVID-19 vaccination and improve smok¬ing cessation using tobacco harm reduction strategies. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify otologic symptoms reported after COVID-19 vaccination.
2. Describe the differences in the immune system response between COVID-19 vaccination and infection.
3. Compare the safety, efficacy, and limitations of strategies for tobacco harm reduction to promote cessation of smoking.
4. Cite common misperceptions among physicians of the health effects of nicotine and use of electronic cigarettes for smoking cessation.
5. Summarize recent regulations from the Food and Drug Administration for marketing and advertising of electronic cigarettes.
