Being able to quickly identify and mitigate an infectious disease outbreak requires all healthcare workers to be aware of the spread of pathogens. This module reviews all of the work that goes into an outbreak investigation from the community exposure to a pathogen to a global response. This overview uses COVID-19 to highlight each step taken prior to the announcement of a pandemic. The speaker also touches on global response teams, Health Alert Network, and Travel Health Notices.
