Intermittent Fasting (IF) as a means of dietary modification has gained popularity among individuals with obesity as a means of achieving weight loss. Especially within recent years, the utility of IF has grown in patients with metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The focus of this presentation will be the utility of IF regimens as a means of weight loss in patients with T2DM using hypoglycemic agents. Dr. Rajpal will discuss and suggest preventive measures to minimize the adverse effects of IF regimens in this special population.
