The goal of this program is to improve management of overdoses of extended-release medications. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Select an appropriate method of decontamination for overdoses involving extended-release drugs. 2. Appropriately administer a lipid emulsion infusion for a patient with evolving cardiogenic shock after taking an overdose of an extended-release medication.
